Tino was actually my sister, Margaret Reyna's, fiance. He had custody of his three grandchildren since his daughter was on drugs, etc. He had insurance on the kids, but couldn't afford any for himself. He started having severe pain in his abdomen that was intermittent, and spells of nausea and vomitting. He and my sister went to the University Hospital emergency room in San Antonio, which goes on a sliding scale according to income, but does little in diagnostics. He would always leave with Mylanta. A year passed and he wasn't taken seriously until he started having GI (gastric intestinal bleeding) and collapsing from low blood counts, which meant he was losing large amounts of blood. At that point, he was diagnosed with stomach cancer, but it was too late. A year too late. He died of stomach cancer leaving behind three grandchildren with no one to care for them.
