John Porter writes:
When Randi lost her job, she also lost her health insurance, and once the COBRA ran out, due to pre existing conditions, she could not get health insurance. She developed Pulmonary Artery Disease, and was in bad shape. She qualified for Disability, but had to wait 2 years for Medicare to kick in. During that time, her condition worsened, until she could not walk more than a couple of feet, and slept more than she was awake. Finally she was qualified for Medicare, and had an operation, which cost a quarter of a million dollars, but it was too late. Due to her weakened condition, she didn't make it, and I lost my dear wife of 41 years. If she had been able to have the operation 2 years sooner, when she still had some strength, I feel that she would be with me now.
